About HVAC Lines

HVAC Lines is the Calgary phone line of PatchLead (1001689754 Ontario Inc.): one number, answered every hour of the year, that connects a homeowner with a heating or cooling problem to an independent technician who is available right now, on the same call. You pay nothing to use it. The technician quotes and bills you directly, and pays PatchLead for the connection. We own no vans, employ no technicians and do no repairs — we are not the contractor, and this page is where we say so at length.

PatchLead runs the same service under other names in other places — 2hvac.ca and 2plumbers.ca — under the same policies and the same operator. HVAC Lines is its Alberta line, built for the way this city heats: gas furnaces almost everywhere, a heating season that runs October to April, and a phone that has to be answered at −30 °C.

Who operates this site

The site, the phone number, the assistant that answers it and the online request form are owned and operated by PatchLead (1001689754 Ontario Inc.), an Ontario corporation with its registered office at 1025 King St E, Unit 107, Cambridge, ON N3H 3P5. That name is in the consent you give when you submit a request, in the privacy policy and terms published here, and in the footer of every page. There is no separate company called HVAC Lines; it is a brand of PatchLead, the way 2hvac.ca and 2plumbers.ca are.

Mail for the operator goes to the Cambridge address. Nobody there can send a technician to a Calgary basement — the technicians are in Calgary — which is why every page of this site puts the phone number first and the address last.

What the service is, and is not

It is a switchboard with judgement. You call; an assistant confirms what has gone wrong and your postal code; you are transferred to one independent technician from the network who covers that postal code and is free at that moment. The whole thing takes about a minute and you never hang up to wait for a callback.

It is not an HVAC company, a call centre, a quote-comparison site or a form that sells your details to several contractors. We do not set prices, do not perform or inspect the work, and do not guarantee it — the technician's company does all of that, under its own name, on its own invoice. What we guarantee is narrower and real: the call is answered, the transfer is live, and only one contractor hears it.

The technicians

Independent Alberta businesses — sole traders and small shops working Calgary and area. To join the network each one agrees in writing to hold the licences, permits and insurance their work requires: an Alberta gasfitter certificate, Class B or Class A for furnaces, boilers and gas lines, and federal ODS certification for the refrigerant in air conditioners and heat pumps. They set their own prices and hours and choose the jobs and postal codes they take.

We do not verify each licence ourselves. That is deliberate honesty rather than an oversight: we are a phone line, not a regulator, and a claim to have checked every ticket would be one we could not keep. So ask the technician for their gasfitter certificate number before any gas work starts. It is the single most useful question a Calgary homeowner can put to anyone who arrives to open a furnace, and a certified tradesperson answers it without a pause.

Your information

A call gives us your number, your postal code and what you said the problem was; an online request adds your name and, optionally, an email. Those details go to the one technician you are connected to and into PatchLead's own records. They are not sold to a list of buyers, and if the first technician cannot take the job, the next one hears the call — not a spreadsheet of your details. Calls are recorded, and the assistant says so at the start of every one.

The privacy policy and the consumer terms on this site say exactly what is kept, for how long, and how to ask for it to be removed. Questions go to privacy@patchlead.ca.

Why the service exists

Because a furnace fails at 2 a.m. in January more often than at 2 p.m. in June, and at 2 a.m. in January nobody wants to fill in a form and wait. The old answer was ringing around — five voicemails, two callbacks the next morning, one technician who could actually come. HVAC Lines does the ringing around live, once, and hands you the one who picked up.

The contractor pays for that connection, not the homeowner, and only when the call was worth having. That keeps the incentive pointed where it should be: at connecting you to someone who can help tonight, in your quadrant, with the right ticket in their pocket.

About this service

Is hvaclines.ca legitimate?

Yes. It is operated by PatchLead (1001689754 Ontario Inc.), an Ontario corporation, and that name appears in the footer, in the consent you give, and in the published privacy policy and terms. The phone number is answered by our own system, and every technician you are connected to is an independent Alberta business that has agreed in writing to hold the licences its work requires.

Who operates hvaclines.ca?

PatchLead (1001689754 Ontario Inc.), based in Ontario, with its registered office in Cambridge. PatchLead runs the phone line, the assistant that answers it, the online request form and this website, and operates 2hvac.ca and 2plumbers.ca under the same policies. HVAC Lines is its Calgary brand.

Is hvaclines.ca an HVAC company?

No. We are a live call-connection service. We own no vans, employ no technicians and perform no repairs; we connect you on the same call to an independent technician from our network who does the work and quotes you directly. The contractor is the HVAC company. We are the phone line that reaches them.

Does hvaclines.ca charge me anything?

No. The call is free, the connection is free, and you are never billed by us. The technician you are connected to quotes and bills you for the work at their own rate, and pays PatchLead for the connection. Nothing is added to your price on our side.

Will my number be shared or sold?

Your number, postal code and problem description go to the one technician you are connected to and into PatchLead's own records. If that technician cannot take the job, the next available one hears the call instead. Your details are not sold on to a list of buyers, and the privacy policy says how long they are kept.

How do I know the technician is licensed?

Every technician in the network agrees in writing to hold the licences Alberta requires, but we do not verify each licence ourselves. Ask for their gasfitter certificate number before any furnace or gas work starts, and their refrigerant certification for air conditioning. Licensed tradespeople expect the question and answer it readily.
